Adagin’s timeline starts in February 2016 when we tested the idea of the Picking Harness by playing around with basic materials and a 3D printed clamp.
Making the first Harness

The first Picking Harness was made by a friendly man in the Cape Suburbs. It helped the founders to test it on the farms for the first time.
The first field tests

The first Picking Harness was tested in the table grape vineyards of De Doorns in the Western Cape Province of South Africa with great success!
Testing the Market – Limpopo

Our first meeting with farmers was in the Limpopo province of South Africa where the first grapes of the season is harvested

On 17 August 2016 Adagin (Pty) Ltd was registered!

We tested the market’s interest by attending farmer meetings in various table grape regions in South Africa and Namibia
Going into production

After the market research it became clear that there was a need for the Picking Harness in South Africa. We decided to go in full production to supply this demand

Our first orders came in October and the business was starting to take off!

We decided to up our game and improve the harness, put it through an ergonomics test and make it more user-friendly. We also exported our new product to the European market
